Executives behind the Resident Evil franchise have cancelled a zombie-themed promotional stunt in London in the aftermath of the brutal killing of a soldier in the city on Wednesday (22May13). Bosses behind the video game-turned-movie series, which stars Milla Jovovich, had planned to fill an open air swimming pool in London with fake blood and human body parts over the weekend (25-26May13) to promote the release of the latest game, Resident Evil Revelations. However, the zombie stunt has now been called off following the bloody machete attack on a member of Britain's armed forces, which hit headlines around the world. A statement from Resident Evil bosses reads, "In light of yesterday's sad events we're cancelling our Revelations pool event. Thank you for your understanding." The event was due to take place in east London, just miles from the scene of the killing in Woolwich, and feature lifeguards dressed as zombies and fake human limbs floating in water coloured to look like blood. Fans were going to be encouraged to dive into the pool to retrieve Resident Evil merchandise from the bottom.
