Star Trek and Star Wars director J.J. Abrams recently went back in time after arranging a visit to the set of his favourite TV drama Downton Abbey. The sci-fi mastermind was in England promoting his new Star Trek sequel Into Darkness when he decided to use a day off to soak up the atmosphere below stairs on the set where much of the period drama is shot. Abrams says, "I went to the set and I got to stand in the kitchen and get a picture taken, and while I was having a picture taken one of the actors walked up and joined me in the photograph." Appearing on late night U.S. chat show Conan on Wednesday (22May13), the director showed off the snapshot of him and actress Phyllis Logan, who plays Mrs. Hughes in the TV series. He added, "It's a brilliant show. I just love it. I got to meet some of the cast and they were lovely."
