Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is recovering in hospital after undergoing an operation on his shoulder to treat an injury sustained on the set of his latest movie. The 47-year-old actor tore the rotator cuff muscles in his right shoulder while taking part in a stunt for upcoming film Chennai Express, and he was admitted to a medical centre in Mumbai, India for surgery on Tuesday (28May13). Khan worked through the pain for three months of filming, managing the injury with medication, before he was able to schedule the operation. He is expected to be released from hospital later this week (beg27May13) and has been ordered to rest for the next two months. Dr Sanjay Desai, the surgeon who operated on the star, tells the Times of India, "He will remain in the hospital for two more days and even after that, he will have to keep his arm in a pouch and sling for at least six weeks. Then he will have to begin the exercises required for his complete recovery."
