Rep denies Miguel was warned against stage jump at Billboard awards

Jun 05, 2013 | 8:12pm EDT

A spokesperson for Miguel has denied reports suggesting the singer was warned against jumping over fans at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. The Grammy winner could be facing legal action after misjudging his audience leap during his performance in Las Vegas last month (May13) and accidentally kicking Khyati Shah in the head. And earlier this week (beg03Jun13) reports surfaced suggesting organisers had cautioned Miguel about the stunt before he took the stage. However, his representative has denied the speculation, insisting, "The reports claiming that Miguel was warned by producers not to jump are completely false." Shah has turned to lawyers after allegedly experiencing medical issues following the incident, and her attorney Vip Bhola tells, "We will determine that (whether they will file a lawsuit) after we have feedback from medical providers." Miguel's rep is adamant Shah's health is of the "utmost concern" to the star, adding, "A number of attempts were made to reach Khyati and her lawyer after the performance to see how she was doing and whether any assistance could be offered. Khyati's well-being has been and continues to be of the utmost concern to Miguel."
