Nigella Lawson's husband has been officially cautioned for assault after pictures of him grabbing the TV chef by the neck hit headlines around the world. The shocking snaps purportedly showed a visibly upset Lawson in the midst of a domestic dispute with advertising tycoon and art collector Charles Saatchi, who had his hand around her throat at an outside table at London restaurant Scott's. Officers at London's Metropolitan Police confirmed they were investigating the matter, despite no official complaint being made, and on Monday (17Jun13) cautioned Saatchi for assault. A police statement reads, "Officers from the Community Safety Unit at Westminster were aware of the... article which was published on 16 June and carried out an investigation. This afternoon a 70-year-old man voluntarily attended a Central London police station and accepted a caution for assault." Saatchi, 70, has dismissed the drama as an argument about their kids, saying, "There was no grip, it was a playful tiff. The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place... We had made up by the time we were home." Meanwhile, Lawson has left the couple's home in London. Her representative says, "Nigella and her children have moved out of the family home."
