Kanye West was not worried when a raunchy recording stolen from his computer almost went viral last year (12) because he is convinced the scandal would have given him a career boost. The rapper's attorneys threatened legal action over the publication of a video which allegedly showed the star cavorting with an unidentified woman in a hotel room, claiming it had been taken from his computer without permission. West has now spoken for the first time about the tape, insisting he wasn't concerned about fans seeing the footage. He tells W magazine, "For the most part, I'd rather people have (seen) one of those home videos than some of the paparazzi photos that get published. At least I recorded the s**t myself. That tape couldn't have hurt me in any way if it came out - it could only have helped. Now, I just do exactly what I want, whenever I want, how the f**k I want. 'F**k you' is my message." West's girlfriend Kim Kardashian was given a major career boost in 2007 when a sex tape she made with singer Ray J was leaked - the socialite landed her own reality TV show just months after the footage went public.
