Embattled R&B star Chris Brown is in trouble with the law again - he has been charged with hit-and-run relating to a minor car accident in Los Angeles last month (May13). The Kiss Kiss hitmaker was back in the headlines in May (13) after accidentally hitting another vehicle while driving through Beverly Hills with his on/off girlfriend Karrueche Tran. Reports suggested the singer, who is on probation for the 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna, failed to hand over the right insurance information to the other motorist before driving off, but his representative disputed the claims, insisting Brown obeyed the law and even had his lawyer, Mark Geragos, contact the woman soon after the run-in to make sure she had the correct details. However, authorities are refusing to believe his side of the story and Brown has now been slapped with two criminal counts - a charge of hit-and-run for leaving the scene without exchanging the proper information, and another for driving without a valid licence. He faces a maximum of six months behind bars for each offence, but that's not all - if the incident is considered a violation of his probation, it could land him behind bars for up to four years, according to TMZ.com. The latest legal wrangle for Brown comes just a day after fresh assault allegations emerged following a reported altercation with a female at a California nightclub on Saturday (22Jun13). Deanna Giles, 24, has filed a police report amid claims she was violently shoved to the ground by the star, causing her to suffer torn ligaments in her knee. Brown has vehemently denied the accusations and has received the backing of the club owner, who insisted he did nothing wrong.
