The Cirque du Soleil acrobat who suffered a fatal fall during a performance in Las Vegas last weekend (29Jun13) died of multiple blunt force trauma, a coroner has ruled. Sarah Guillot-Guyard was performing in Ka at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino when she slipped during a high-flying scene and fell into a pit below the stage. The mother of two was rushed to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, and on Wednesday (03Jul13), officials at the Clark County Coroner's Office released the 31 year old's official cause of death, just hours before a candlelight vigil in her memory was due to take place in Sin City. All productions of Ka have been cancelled until further notice as bosses at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) conduct a full investigation. Guillot-Guyard's death marks the first onstage fatality in the renowned circus company's 30-year history.
