Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has condemned Indian authorities for wasting time investigating reports he illegally discovered the sex of his newborn son before the child's birth. The actor and his wife, Gauri, welcomed the baby via a surrogate mother in May (13), but the news was only made public by a local official on Wednesday (03Jul13). They were previously rumoured to have ordered a prenatal test to find out if the tot was a boy or a girl - a practice banned in India to prevent the abortion of female fetuses in favour of male heirs - prompting an official probe by government chiefs, who are currently looking into the matter to determine if Khan broke the law. The star made his feelings about the issue clear during a press conference for his new film Chennai Express on Wednesday night (03Jul13), admitting the news was "extremely personal", but promising to share more information about the child, whose name has yet to be released, once the inquiry is over. He also expressed his hopes that officials would work with the same "alacrity in finding out and doing the enthusiastic investigation they are doing upon my baby upon other things which they should be lending their thoughts to right now." He added, "When the sad part gets over, I will share everything with you." The 47 year old also has a 15-year-old son, Aryan, and a 13-year-old daughter, Suhana, with Gauri.
