Jefferson Starship guitarist Slick Aguilar has been given a huge health boost as he battles liver disease - he has been informed he is close to getting the transplant he desperately needs. The musician, who joined the rock act in the early 1990s, shared the good news with fans on his Facebook.com page, revealing he's both excited and scared about the operation he needs to save his life. He writes, "I was told that I am now first in line for a transplant for my blood type whenever the next liver becomes available. My blood type is B-, which is kind of rare. So, even though I am now at the top of the list, it could still take a while before a B- liver becomes available. Could be tomorrow - could be six months. "I am excited and nervous at the same time. When I received this news, my heart raced, as this is what I have been hoping and praying for. But when I think that I may be under the knife soon, it's scary."
