Grunge rock godfathers Mudhoney are to perform atop Seattle, Washington's Space Needle to mark their record label's 25th birthday. Reports suggest the band will be tethered to the landmark as part of Sub Pop's anniversary celebrations next week (beg08Jul13). Label bosses are also planning to stage a free festival in the city on 13 July (13), which will feature performances from J. Mascis and Built To Spill. As well as the above-named acts, Sub Pop's roster has included Nirvana, Fugazi and Afghan Whigs.
