Former Busted star Charlie Simpson has moved swiftly to dismiss rumours suggesting the band will be reforming on a reality TV show. The pop stars split in 2005 and Simpson has gone on to carve out a new career with rock group Fightstar, but speculation about a possible Busted comeback has increased following the success of U.K. TV show The Big Reunion, which resurrected 1990s groups including Five, 911, Atomic Kitten and Liberty X. Fans had hoped Busted would be part of a potential second season of the show, but Simpson has now spoken out to torpedo the reunion rumours. Speaking to Britain's Absolute Radio, he says, "Busted - that won't be happening, but I'll definitely be getting in the studio with Fightstar again." He adds of reality TV talent shows, "I'm not a big fan of reality TV shows to be honest. It's a bit of a cliche to say it's ruining the music industry but I just don't really care about it... The majority of people who come off those shows and have that initial success before it fades away are left in a worse position from where they started." Other bands including All Saints, East 17, Eternal and Savage Garden are rumoured to have signed up for the second season of The Big Reunion.
