Country music star Randy Travis has been hospitalised in Texas with a heart ailment. The 54-year-old singer was admitted on Sunday (07Jul13) and is currently in critical condition, his spokesperson tells The Honky Tonk Moon hitmaker is suffering from complications stemming from recently diagnosed viral cardiomyopathy, a heart condition caused by an infection. The news comes almost a year after Travis was taken into custody under suspicion of driving while intoxicated, obstruction and retaliation after crashing his truck in August, 2012, and then allegedly verbally threatened officers who arrived at the scene. Travis, who was naked at the time of the incident, pleaded guilty to one count of DWI in January (13) and was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay a fine, serve 30 days in an alcohol treatment facility and perform 100 hours of community service.
