British pop star Leona Lewis is getting into the Christmas spirit early this year (13) as she records her first festive album. The Bleeding Love hitmaker, who signed to Simon Cowell's Syco Music label after winning the British version of The X Factor in 2006, reveals she been working on the holiday release after taking up the advice of the music and reality TV mogul - but her seasonal tunes will have a more soulful vibe to them. She tells London's Evening Standard newspaper, "Simon is still very much involved in my career and helps me out. He came up with the Christmas album idea, and we both kind of felt it was the right time to go ahead with it... "I'm doing some classics with quite a Motown feel. There's also going to be a bit of original material in there." The singer won't be the only pop star to record an album for the holidays this year (13) - another reality TV champ, American Idol's Kelly Clarkson, is also working on her first Christmas release.
