Rapper Drake is working on reconciling his broken relationship with his musician father after years of estrangement. The Take Care hitmaker was raised by his mother Sandi in his native Toronto, Canada after she divorced his dad, Dennis Graham, when the future star was just five years old. Graham, who hailed from Memphis, Tennessee and worked as a drummer for Jerry Lee Lewis, spent years in and out of jail and frequently lost contact with his son, but Drake reveals they are slowly getting to know one another again and he is grateful to have the opportunity to mend their fractured bond. He tells GQ magazine, "It's an emotional process. My father is an incredible man - charming, talented, and stylish - and I'm sort of living the dream he had for himself. "But his actions served as that reverse role model for me. There are a lot of things that I don't ever want to do. I don't want to miss years of my child's life. I don't want to put a woman on a roller-coaster ride." Drake has since channeled the pain of his parents' split into a new song for his upcoming album, Nothing Was the Same.
