Ailing singer Randy Travis is still in a critical condition after undergoing emergency surgery following a stroke on Wednesday (10Jul13). Surgeons operated on the country music star to relieve pressure on his brain after his health took a turn for the worse at the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano in Texas. In an email sent to news agency Reuters on Thursday (11Jul13), Travis' spokesperson Kirt Webster wrote, "He is out of surgery and remains in critical condition." The rep earlier stated that the stroke was a "complication of his congestive heart failure". The 54 year old has been under doctors' care since Sunday (07Jul13), when he was admitted to hospital for treatment to a heart condition he developed after battling a viral respiratory illness last month (Jun13). On Tuesday (09Jul13), Travis underwent a procedure to have a pumping aid device placed in his heart.
