Tara Reid and Ian Ziering's new monster-mutation movie Sharknado took by storm on Thursday night (11Jul13) as fans and critics alike turned the TV film into an unlikely phenomenon. The SyFy channel disaster epic, in which former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Ziering and Reid turn heroes to defend Santa Monica, California from a series of shark-filled tornadoes, became an instant hit thanks to fans on the micro-blogging site. Hashtag #Sharknado became a top trending topic early on Friday (12Jul13) as those who watched the movie took to Twitter to comment on the film - and even serious actress Mia Farrow was part of the fun. She tweeted photos of herself watching Sharknado, writing, "WHAT. IS. HAPPENING." Olivia Wilde confessed she had recorded the film, and other celebrities who took to Twitter to comment on the disaster film included Michael Chiklis and former 30 Rock star Judah Friedlander, who wrote, "If Ian Zeiring (sic) is not in a shark movie. It's not a good shark movie."
