Glee's reality TV spin-off The Glee Project has been scrapped after just two seasons. The competition series, which featured the late Cory Monteith as a mentor, gave wannabe singers the chance to shine - and appear on the musical drama. Glee stars Alex Newell, Blake Jenner, Samuel Larsen, Damian McGinty and Lindsay Pearce all came to creator/director Ryan Murphy's drama via the reality show. The news from executives at Oxygen - the network behind the programme - is the latest blow in a tough week for Glee fans; it comes three days after Monteith was found dead in his hotel suite in Vancouver, Canada. Oxygen bosses insist their decision to axe The Glee Project has nothing to do with the actor's death.
