British rockers Reverend And The Makers have become the latest stars to launch their own brand of beer. The Heavyweight Champion of the World hitmakers have teamed up with tastemakers at the U.K.'s Thornbridge Brewery to create Reverend & The Makers Summer Ale, and they are already planning to release a second variety of the bottled booze this winter (13). Guitarist Ed Cosens tells local newspaper The Star, "I've known the guys from Thornbridge for a few years now and last year they came to me and said, 'Do you want to do a beer with Reverend And The Makers?' I was like, 'Of course, yeah, I love ale'. I just jumped at the chance because they are a great brewery. The band recently launched the Summer Ale at The Stag's Head bar in their native Sheffield, England. Reverend and The Makers aren't the only British rockers who have tasted beer success this year - Iron Maiden have made their mark at bars around Europe with their Trooper Ale, which is to be served to British politicians at the House of Commons bar in London after a member of parliament nominated the beer to be introduced to the drinks list.
