Tom Hanks is reuniting with director Ron Howard to bring author Dan Brown's latest mystery thriller Inferno to life on the big screen. The actor will reprise his role as Harvard University symbologist Dr. Robert Langdon for the new movie, which is centred around literary masterpiece Dante's Inferno. Inferno will be Hanks and Howard's third film adaptation of Brown's books following the success of 2006's The Da Vinci Code and 2009's Angels and Demons. Screenwriter David Koepp will return to work on the script. The movie is expected to be released in December, 2015. Inferno is Brown's fourth book featuring the adventures of Dr. Langdon - Hanks and Howard had previously been attached to a film based on the writer's third novel, The Lost Symbol, but those plans were shelved after the director pulled out of the project, reports Deadline.com.
