Country star Dierks Bentley's benefit concert in memory of the 19 firefighters who perished in a devastating Arizona blaze has raised $476,000 (£317,000). The singer headlined the Country Cares Concert on Monday (22Jul13) in an effort to raise funds for the families of the emergency workers who were killed by a fast-moving wildfire north of Phoenix last month (Jun13). Brendan McDonough, the sole survivor of the 20-strong Granite Mountain Hotshots crew, joined Bentley on stage after his performance and was handed a cheque for $476,000. The star said, "It's a real honour to be able to come up here and be asked to be part of this event to raise the spirits of this community and these folks but also to raise some money and give back to these families."
