Actor Alec Baldwin has called on disgraced politician Anthony Weiner to drop out of New York City's mayoral race following his latest sex scandal. It was revealed this week (begs 22Jul13) that Weiner allegedly carried on an online sexual relationship with a 22 year old female in 2012, months after the former U.S. representative resigned after admitting to sending a photo of his penis to a female Twitter follower. The 48 year old, who was an unsuccessful candidate for Mayor of New York City in the 2005 election, is running again and he's refusing to back down following the latest sex scandal. Baldwin, who has often expressed an interest in Big Apple politics, insists it would be best for Weiner to drop out of the race. In an op-ed piece for the Huffington Post the actor writes, "Weiner has only one problem that disqualifies him from the race and that is that he is clearly addicted to reckless behavior. That is something New York's taxpayers do not need right now. Weiner should quit, walk away, let some time wash over his reversals and re-emerge, another day, to attempt some future race for public office."
