The model ex-wife of baseball star Kris Benson has been denied bail following her armed robbery arrest, because of her history of avoiding police capture. Former FHM model Anna Benson was taken into custody last month (Jul13) after demanding her husband, a one-time New York Mets pitcher, hand over cash at gunpoint in Georgia. She was formally charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault with a weapon, one count of criminal trespass, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. She asked for a jail release so she could travel out of state for "mental and substance abuse evaluations," but the judge denied the request because of a 17-year-old murder charge, according to TMZ.com. According to the website, Benson went on the run in 1996 after she was accused of killing a man in Tennessee. The charges against her were eventually dropped, but not before she disappeared for five months. As a result, the judge feared she would be a flight risk and turned down her bail request.
