Singer Chris Brown has been booked on a hit-and-run charge and released on his own recognisance, according to a U.S. report. The charge stems from a minor car accident in May (13) and, because he was not arrested at the time of the incident, Brown had until 6 August (13) to turn himself in to police for booking. The Fine China hitmaker, 24, reported to the Van Nuys jail in California on Monday afternoon (05Aug13) where he was booked and released on his own recognisance in just 45 minutes, according to TMZ.com. Brown's probation relating to his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna was revoked at a court hearing in July (13) and he faces up to four years behind bars if found guilty of the hit-and-run. His next court date has been scheduled for 15 August (13).
