Aerosmith have been forced to scrap two upcoming Asian shows due to contractual issues. The rockers have withdrawn from festival shows in Shanghai, China and Taipei, Taiwan this week (beg19Aug13) after a local promoter failed to meet "contractual obligations". Frontman Steven Tyler says, "We are extremely upset to have disappointed our dedicated fans. They have welcomed us into their country and due to uncontrollable circumstances we will not be able to perform. We were so excited to share our music with them and look forward to one day returning and giving them the show they deserve." Bandmate Joe Perry adds, "We're disappointed as we wanted to play for our fans. We've looked forward to this for a lifetime." The group's show at Hongkou Football Stadium on Wednesday (21Aug13) was to be its first in China. Band member Tom Hamilton recently told Sino-US.com, "China is a great country with history and culture. I am delighted and surprised that we have many fans in China, although we have never performed in China before. "When our manager told us that we have an opportunity to come to China, doing a solo concert, all of us were very excited. We did not hesitate to accept the invitation, because we really have been waiting for this for a long time."
