A Broadway musical inspired by the music of the The Beatles is set to close four months early due to poor ticket sales. Let It Be opened at New York City's St. James Theater last month (24Jul13) and was scheduled to run until 29 December (13), but it will now close on 1 September (13). The tribute show, which features 40 Beatles songs including Help! and Hey Jude, received positive reviews, but the production has played to only 50,000 theatre fans, grossing between $2 million and $2.4 million (£1.3 million - £1.6 million). The producers of Let It Be, which is also running in London's West End, hope to take the show on the road for a North American tour in 2014 and 2015.
