Singer Chris Brown dodged questions about a string of controversial recent Twitter.com messages during his appearance on U.S. breakfast show Today on Friday (30Aug13), insisting he was only there to play music for his fans. The Fine China hitmaker performed on the New York stage where One Direction stopped traffic a week ago (23Aug13), but he wasn't so keen on chatting between songs with Today host Matt Lauer, When he was asked about tweets he sent out earlier this month (Aug13), in which he launched into a tirade after being sentenced to 1,000 hours of community service stemming from the 2009 attack on ex-girlfriend Rihanna. He raged, "N**ga done 6 months community service wit police and the DA racist a** crying to the judge that I didn't do it. F**K the SYSTEM!” Interviewer Lauer asked Brown about the messages, but he refused to answer, stating he only wanted to talk about his music. Smiling, Brown politely said, "It's not my music... I'm just putting out the music right now." He went on to assure fans, who had gathered to catch his free outdoor show, that he wasn't quitting music when asked about other tweets, in which he stated he wanted to step away from the spotlight because he was "tired of being famous for a mistake he made when he was 18." He continued, "As far as how I work, I'm just going to continue to work for my fans and make sure they have fun." He also brushed off questions about his health after reportedly suffering a seizure earlier this month (Aug13), stating, "I'm good, I just needed some rest."
