Idris Elba and Naomie Harris to receive Breakthrough in Film Award

Actors Idris Elba and Naomie Harris are set to receive The Hollywood Reporter's inaugural Breakthrough in Film Awards at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Elba and Harris, who portray Nelson and Winnie Mandela in new film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, will be feted at the Thompson Hotel on Sunday (08Sep13). Janice Min, editorial director of The Hollywood Reporter, says, "The Hollywood Reporter Breakthrough in Film Awards highlights the incredible work of emerging talent. We are thrilled to recognise Idris Elba and Naomie Harris for their roles in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, a film which tells one of the most important stories of our time." The awards were created "to honour the work of an actor and actress in a leading role whose performance marks a turning point in their career."
