Thousands of rare candid photographs of Britain's royal family members are set to hit the auction block to raise money for charity. Ray Bellisario has spent decades snapping away at Queen Elizabeth II and her family and became known as London's first paparazzo for capturing the royals away from their formal duties, and now his treasure trove of 23,000 pictures has been plundered for the big sale. Highlights include Prince Charles waterskiing in the 1970s, Princess Anne in a bathing suit in Malta in 1969, and a shot of the Queen dancing the Twist with a friend at Balmoral Castle in Scotland in August, 1962. Bellisario is selling off all of the snaps and their copyright during an Omega Auctions event in London on 10 October (13), with proceeds benefitting his charity Reach For Rights, which provides free legal services for the poor. The whole collection of images has been valued at at least $750,000 (£500,000).
