The wife of late opera legend Luciano Pavarotti is to collect his lifetime achievement award six years after he was named as the recipient. The Three Tenors star was due to receive the honour at the Classic Brit Awards in 2007 but he died from pancreatic cancer just weeks before the ceremony. His widow Nicoletta Mantovani-Pavarotti has now agreed to collect it on her late husband's behalf at this year's ceremony in London next month (Oct13). She says, "It is wonderful that the music industry is honouring Luciano in this way, particularly at a time when we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of his first recording. It is beautiful that the Classic Brit Awards are helping to keep his memory alive through honouring him in this way." The awards ceremony is due to take place on 2 October (13).
