Ben Affleck has shrugged off the negative reactions he has received following his casting as Batman in the Man Of Steel sequel. The Hollywood star, who was announced as the latest actor to play the superhero last month (Aug13), faced a backlash after committing to the role and was warned by studio bosses to stay away from the Internet to avoid the criticism. In an interview on U.S. chat show Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Affleck revealed that once he had committed to the role he was shown a sample of the cutting remarks other actors had received over similarly controversial casting. Refusing to name any of the stars involved, the Good Will Hunting star says, "They send me (comments about) people who were in these movies who did a great job and (the critics would) say, 'Kill himmmm!'... You can't say that before a movie comes out. It doesn't matter what you think then, it matters what you think when you see the movie." However, Affleck insists he is able to handle the fallout, adding, "I'm a big boy... They said just don't use the Internet for a couple of days... I handle s**t. I'm very tough."
