Will Smith learned about reports his wife Jada Pinkett Smith had filed for divorce while he was in bed with her. Speculation swirled last year (12) that The Matrix Reloaded star had plans to separate from her husband of 16 years. She quickly denied the rumours and was adamant that the couple was sticking together. During an interview with Queen Latifah on her new U.S. talk show, the rapper/actor revealed that he first found out about the split speculation while he was actually laying next to his wife. Smith revealed, "Like a year ago, there were all these rumours that me and Jada were getting a divorce. So I get the Google Alert, I'm laying in bed - with Jada. It says, 'Jada Pinkett Smith files for divorce.' So I'm like, "This is crazy!'" Smith reenacted the moment where his laughter turned to possible confusion and worry that it might be true, and turned to his wife and said, "Hey babe, where was you at yesterday?(sic)" And while the couple, who also serve as executive producers on Latifah's show, have no plans of breaking up, Smith did admit that marriage has not been an easy ride. He explained, "It's hard in relationships in general when people expect it to be easy. It's not easy. It's the individual most difficult thing that you're ever going to do in your life - to try to handle the challenges of life and family and love, side by side for somebody for the rest of your life? It's a battle."
