Former child star Charlotte Church has thrown her weight behind Miley Cyrus' image overhaul, insisting the controversial singer is entitled to do "stupid things" as she is young. The former Hannah Montana actress, 20, caused outrage by stripping to latex underwear and performing a raunchy routine with Robin Thicke at the MTV Video Music Awards last month (Aug13), and she followed it up by appearing naked except for a pair of boots in the promo for her new single Wrecking Ball. Church shot to fame at the age of 11 and subsequently had a tough time growing up in the public eye, but she is adamant Cyrus is not to blame for her recent scandals. Church tells British TV show This Morning, "In terms of people like Miley Cyrus etc, I think it's really sad that it's only her that's blamed because, if we are talking about that particular Miley Cyrus performance (at the MTV VMAs), we have got to remember that that would have gone through tons of people and advisors and lots of people that she works with. She makes a lot of money for a lot of people, therefore they won't let her make mistakes. "And she is really young. She is only little and everybody does stupid things when they are younger, and I just think it's really sad how people are sort of really attacking her, because it's the industry, it's the societal problems more than Miley Cyrus' personal issues or whatever."
