Actor David Harewood was upset when he was written out of hit TV show Homeland just as he was beginning to enjoy his first taste of success. The Brit played Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) boss David Estes in the show for two seasons before his character was dramatically killed off in the second series finale. Harewood has now admitted he was distraught to have to leave the show when he was riding high on its popularity. He tells Britain's Sunday Express, "Suddenly getting blown up in the middle of all that success was somewhat disappointing. I suppose having spent so long climbing the ladder, then to get to a point of recognition and to have the thing you associate with that success taken away... well in a sense, this is a very reflective period for me right now... "The reaction to Homeland has been tremendous and I have been very fortunate and blessed to have been a part of it. I learned an enormous amount." Harewood goes on to admit his role in Homeland has yet to win him any further acting work, adding, "In terms of recognition, I am still waiting for that to translate into employment possibilities. I am still waiting for that to happen. It is fairly quiet."
