Veteran French actress Catherine Deneuve is to be honoured for her career achievements at the upcoming European Film Awards. The 69 year old will be presented with a lifetime achievement award at the prizegiving in Germany in December (13). A statement from the European Film Academy (EFA), the body behind the event, reads, "The European Film Academy takes great pleasure in presenting Catherine Deneuve with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding body of work... Be it as the mysterious beauty, the bourgeois housewife or a bisexual vampire, Catherine Deneuve has now and again given unforgettable moments to the world of cinema." The actress will be handed the prize at the show in Berlin on 7 December (13). Spanish moviemaker Pedro Almodovar will also be honoured at the ceremony after EFA bosses previously announced he is the recipient of the European Achievement in World Cinema Award.
