Grown-up child star Charlotte Church has been named the unlikely star who will deliver this year's (13) Peel Lecture to radio industry executives. The 27 year old will talk about the representation of women in music when she delivers the annual lecture in honour of late British broadcaster John Peel next month (14Oct13). Church joins the likes of The Who's Pete Townshend and singer/songwriter Billy Bragg, who are past Peel Lecture speakers. Her big moment will take place at the annual Radio Festival in Salford, England and it will be broadcast on BBC Radio 6 Music. She says, "I've had some interesting times during the past 15 years, facing the same problems that many other women face when trying to forge their way in the music and entertainment worlds. I'm looking forward to encouraging a healthy debate around this important topic."
