Tragic TV and movie veteran Karen Black completed work on her memoirs the night before she died in August (13). The Five Easy Pieces star lost her battle with cancer on 8 August just hours after putting the finishing touches to her autobiography. Her husband Stephen Eckleberry tells the Globe, "She knew she was dying but she never gave up. Karen had the most positive attitude of anyone I've ever known. She had such an exuberance and love for life and lived each day to the fullest." And now the filmmaker is hoping to release a documentary chronicling his late wife's last days, adding, "We made a game of her cancer by shooting a documentary over the past two-and-a-half years, which we're hoping to release next year." Black was buried in Oceanside, California and her famous friends gathered for a memorial at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery last week (17Sep13). Mourners included Jack Nicholson, Juliette Lewis and Paul Sorvino.
