Former record label president Polly Anthony has died. The one time boss of Epic and Geffen records lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday (29Sep13). Starting her career as an assistant at CBS Records in 1978, Anthony worked her way up the ladder, first as president of Epic's 550 Music, home of artists including Mandy Moore and Ben Folds Five, before taking the top job Geffen Records in 2004. After hearing the news, her close friend, songwriter Diane Warren, wrote on her Facebook.com page, "My dear friend and sister by choice, Polly Anthony has passed away.
