Former child actor Danny Lloyd is frequently bombarded with prank calls by fans trying to spook him by reciting his creepy lines from horror classic The Shining. Lloyd was just six years old when he played psychic child Danny Torrance in the 1980 movie about a writer living in an empty, isolated hotel who descends into madness and attempts to murder his family. He featured in a key scene in which his character repeatedly chants "Redrum" - the word 'murder' spelled backwards - and now he is often plagued with the phrase by fans of the film, especially since Stephen King has written a follow-up to the original story. Lloyd, whose acting career failed to take off after shooting on The Shining wrapped, now works as a biology teacher in Kentucky, and he tells British newspaper The Sun, "I still get the occasional call from fans who recite my famous line 'Redrum' - murder spelled backwards - before hanging up. Ninety-nine per cent of the time it's fine, just occasionally. But when something comes up, like Stephen King releasing this second book, I will start getting prank calls. It's not something I want to encourage."
