Spanish dance stars Delorean have postponed their entire U.S. tour until next year (14), days after they were kidnapped in Mexico. The quartet, fronted by singer/bassist Ekhi Lopetegi, was held hostage during a harrowing ordeal in Mexico City on 7 October (13), when it received a phone call from men posing as police officers claiming the group had to move as they were not safe at its hotel. The musicians claim to have had their cell phones confiscated as the kidnappers contacted bandmembers' families and demanded a ransom of $360,000 (£240,000) each for their release. Delorean were rescued 30 hours later. The group was expected to return to the stage this week (begs14Oct13), but the stars have since pushed back all of their concerts, citing "circumstances beyond their control". Delorean will instead play the gigs in the New Year (14), kicking off the shows in Brooklyn, New York on 24 January (14).
