British rockers Keane are embarking on an indefinite hiatus to allow bandmembers to focus on separate projects. A report published in Britain's The Sun newspaper initially suggested the group was splitting after 16 years together so frontman Tom Chaplin can build a solo career. A spokesperson for Keane has since played down the break-up claims, although he states that Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley, Richard Hughes and Jesse Quin will be taking some time out after the release of their upcoming greatest hits album. The representative says, "Keane are taking a break after the Best Of to pursue their own projects." The Best of Keane is due for release in November (13) and will include all the hits from their five studio albums, which have collectively sold over 11 million copies worldwide.
