LeAnn Rimes' invasion of privacy lawsuit dismissed

Oct 30, 2013 | 9:18pm EDT

Leanne Rimes has lost an invasion of privacy lawsuit she filed against two women who allegedly recorded a phone call with the star. The singer sued California residents Kimberly and Lexi Smiley last August (12), claiming they engaged in a campaign to trash her when she hooked up with their friend Brandi Glanville's then-husband Eddie Cibrian, who is now married to Rimes. Rimes insisted the Smileys secretly recorded a phone chat she had with Kimberly earlier in 2012 - and then released out-of-context excerpts that made Rimes seem "crazy and delusional". The Blue hitmaker said the recording damaged her reputation and relationships, as well as causing her emotional distress. However, a Los Angeles judge has dismissed her suit, therefore preventing Rimes from re-filing the case. The attorney representing the Smileys tells that the "two sides resolved their differences and he could not comment further."
