Scottish musician Jack Alexander died aged 77 on Saturday (02Nov13) following a long battle with ill health. The folk star, who was a member of the musical duo The Alexander Brothers, passed away at Ayrshire Hospice, Scotland, with his family around him. Alexander had reportedly been battling illness since last year (12) and his health deteriorated further following a stroke last month (Oct13). Jack and his brother Tom Alexander started their professional career in the 1950s. They were each named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2005 for services to entertainment.
