Terminally ill rocker Wilko Johnson insists he is happier than he has ever been because existing on borrowed time has made him appreciate life. The former Dr. Feelgood star was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer in January (13) and was given just months to live, but he refused chemotherapy treatment in order to play a farewell tour. Johnson has stunned doctors by defying their predictions, and almost a year on from the diagnosis he is still going strong and loving life. He tells Britain's GQ magazine, "This year I've probably been happier (than) ever. Sometimes I think it's almost worth it. I'm feeling an intensity for life that I haven't felt since I was young."
