Rapper Kanye West has pleaded not guilty to criminal battery and attempted grand theft charges in a California court. The Jesus Walks hitmaker was slapped with the misdemeanours after he allegedly tried to grab paparazzo Daniel Ramos' camera and wrestle him to the ground during an altercation at Los Angeles International Airport this summer (13). West insisted he acted in self defense and in October (13), the parties were ordered to stay at least 10 yards (9.14 metres) away from one another. The rapper faces up to a year behind bars if convicted of both of the charges. In addition to the criminal case, Ramos has also sued West in civil court for assault, battery, and interference with his civil rights, according to TMZ.com.
