Nigerian singer Olufemi Mayomi has died after a lengthy battle with kidney disease. He was 36. The dancehall star passed away in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday (17Nov13) following a 10-day stint in hospital. He was buried the same day at the nearby Badagry Cemetery. After being orphaned at a young age, Mayomi went on to become a successful TV presenter before becoming one of the most famous dancehall stars of the 1990s under his stage name Father U-Turn. He is best known in Africa for his hits African Culture and Shakara and Yetunde.
