Fans of rocker Morrissey were left disappointed after a signing at a New York City bookstore was cancelled because of a "miscommunication" between the store's managers and the singer. On Friday (06Dec13), a post on the Barnes & Noble bookseller's Twitter.com page announced that the former The Smiths frontman would be in the Big Apple to sign copies of his new book, Autobiography on 12 December (13). However just two days after the announcement, a Barnes & Noble representative took to the microblogging site to call off the event, insisting Morrissey was never scheduled to appear in the first place. The post reads: "There is NO scheduled Morrissey event Thursday. We GREATLY apologize for our miscommunication... We apologize to his fans & our customers for the store's miscommunication. We hope to see him in the future, but no scheduled signing at this time." Fans who were already planning to attend the singer's Stateside appearance were dismayed, and wrote back to the bookstore's Twitter account expressing their disappointment.
