Scottish singer Sandi Thom launched into a rant against the producers of a new Nelson Mandela biopic after mistakenly thinking film bosses had made the movie after his death last week (ends08Dec13). The former South African president passed away aged 95 on Thursday (05Dec13), the day Harvey Weinstein's Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom received a royal premiere in London. Idris Elba plays the civil rights icon in the acclaimed movie, which was shown to Mandela weeks before he died, and it broke South African box office records upon its debut in the country last month (Nov13). However, Thom was angered after seeing a commercial promoting the film on Tuesday (10Dec13), believing studio executives had put the project together to profit from his passing. The singer took to Twitter on Tuesday to write, "I just saw an ad for a movie called 'Mandela'. Really? The guys (sic) been deed for not 5 b**ody minutes & already there's a f**king movie!!!"
