Beloved British children's author Dame Jacqueline Wilson has been placed on an organ transplant waiting list after suffering kidney failure. The writer, best known for her Tracy Beaker books, has been undergoing dialysis treatment since suffering problems with her kidneys, and doctors have now told her she is in need of a transplant. Wilson, 67, reveals a number of her friends have offered her their own kidneys, but doctors have yet to find a suitable match. She tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "I just have to wait and see what happens. I am aware that it's a long (transplant) list and I'm just one of very many people on it. I have had some amazing offers from people wanting to help but, unfortunately, they haven't been compatible... The dialysis is something I must have indefinitely now. I started earlier this year and have it for four hours every other day. But I try to make the most of the time so I'll come up with new ideas or even do some writing while I'm there."
