British rocker Ricky Wilson voted to kick a contestant off U.K. TV talent show The Voice because he recognised the wannabe from his days on the road. The Kaiser Chiefs singer has taken up a role as a judge on the singing competition and admits his biggest fear was having to audition a hopeful who he had previously encountered during his 15 years in the music industry. Wilson's nightmare came true within days of joining the show when he recognised the voice of a contestant singing behind his revolving chair, and he refused to give the would-be star a green light by spinning in his seat to face him. Wilson tells rock magazine NME, "There might be a couple of people on this show who've been in NME before. They assumed I'd turn for them because I was the Indie Guy. I can't name names, but there was one in particular where I was like, 'I know that voice'." The 2014 series of The Voice UK, featuring Wilson and fellow judges Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, and Kylie Minogue, is due to begin on Saturday (11Jan14).
